Adidas Gazelle
The origin of the Gazelle
The German company Adidas originated from the two Dassler brothers. These two Adolf and Rudolf Dassler had jointly founded a shoe factory called "Schuhfabrik Gebrueder Dassler". After some problems, the two brothers decided to part ways, with Adi, as he was known, creating Adidas and Rudolf creating the Puma brand.
With an eye on improving performance, Adi Dassler added three stripes to his shoes, to provide better support for athletes. His shoes became so iconic that athletes competing in major international events used them in their competitions.
Fashionable designs from the Gazelle
This isn't the first time Adidas has designed a timeless pair. We all know the famous Adidas Stan Smith and Adidas Superstar. The Adidas Gazelle will be a great success on sports fields and on the street. The Gazelle is a pair of shoes launched by Adidas in the 1968s. When it first came out, this pair of sneakers was intended for use on a variety of sports surfaces.
There were two models, with different soles and colors. The red Gazelle-Rot was designed for outdoor sports such as athletics, while the blue Gazelle-blue was intended for indoor sports such as handball. Despite its success, the Gazelle was removed from the Adidas catalog and replaced by its cousin, the Jaguar. A few years later, in the 80s, Adidas decided to relaunch it, with a few premium touches added. With its many colors and sleek, iconic silhouette, it made an impression in the world of streetwear with its chic yet sporty design.
During this period, the legendary Gazelles were adopted by many influential people, including Kate Moss, who wore them to ceremonies on several occasions, and American hip-hop figures such as the "Beastie Boys". This pair of sneakers was eventually adopted by English football fans, especially supporters of the Liverpool team, who chose the red model as their symbol.
Features of Adidas Gazelle
The German company has managed to develop its culture of the three stripes as all their pairs have this visual identity. This also applies to the well-known Adidas Samba, which, like the Gazelle sneaker, proudly wears the three stripes.
The Adidas Gazelle is still very popular in the world of streetwear and sportswear and is increasingly returning to 2024 fashion! The well-known sneakers such as the pair of Adidas Gazelle Bold Gray White have also become known.
Despite the fact that this pair is more than 50 years old, Gazelle shoes have not aged one bit and are even among our bestsellers. For example, the Adidas Gazelle Bold Pink Glow or the Adidas Gazelle Indoor Collegiate Green are one of the nicest and cozy Adidas.
How do the Adidas Gazelle fit?
The Adidas Gazelle Bold generally fits true to size . Keep your normal size, also taking into account that the brand is known for its narrow models. If you have really wide feet, it is best to order half a size larger!
